Not automatically. Most of our current portfolio is Austin-based because that's where we can be most hands-on, but we'll consider strong opportunities elsewhere in Texas and beyond.
We're early-stage. Is that too early for you?
It depends on the fundamentals, not the calendar. We've partnered with young companies that had a strong team and a clear model, even before revenue matched ambition.
What does "strategic assistance" actually look like?
It varies by company and stage, but it typically includes operational guidance, help professionalizing finance and reporting, introductions across our network, and support through the kind of decisions that come with scaling a business — hiring, financing, and growth planning among them.
How do you decide what to invest in?
We look at the team first, then the fundamentals of the business: is the model sound, is there a real market, and is there a clear way for additional capital and strategic support to move the company forward. We are selective, and we take the time to understand a business before committing.
Is Ticino Capital a venture capital fund?
No. We are a private investment company, not a traditional VC fund. We do not operate on a fund-lifecycle timeline looking for a fast exit — we invest our own capital directly and expect to remain involved with our portfolio companies for the long term.
